This month's episode of Dakota Life includes the following stories:
* A young man in Pierre recently raised thousands of dollars to build a skateboard park for the city's youth. In fact, skateboard parks are popping up all around South Dakota including Sioux Falls, Brookings and Vermillion. Dakota Life travels to some of these skateboard parks to discover the importance of the parks, who is using them and why.
* Fencing is a sport of fighting with a foil that requires concentration and great physical coordination. Dakota Life visits fencing clubs in Vermillion and Sioux Falls to meet with those interested in the sport of fencing.
* The St. Joseph's Indian School in Chamberlain operates a bookmobile that brings books to kids in 37 different central South Dakota communities. Many homes in these communities have few or no books for kids to read.
Dakota Life rides along with the bookmobile, talks with the program's coordinators and the kids and parents that visit the bookmobile.
Larry Rohrer is host for this extraordinary look at people and places in South Dakota. Dakota Life takes the state's highways and byways to find the stories that make life in our state unique. Questions, comments or ideas for Dakota Life can be e-mailed to DakotaLife@sdpb.org. Each show is also
