Odson performs with Jayhawks The University of Kansas Marching Jayhawks traveled to Orlando, FL, Dec. 20-23 for the Mazda Tangerine Bowl.
The bowl was KU's first since 1995 and ended a 22-year bowl game hiatus for the Marching Jayhawks. The 150-member band made numerous appearances during their stay in Orlando, including the nationally televised football game, a Disney World parade and various bowl-affiliated events.
At the Tangerine Bowl, the band performed a portion of its traditional pregame show and a Santana tribute at halftime.
Catherine Odson, a freshman journalism major from Vermillion, traveled as a member of the Marching Jayhawks color guard, a select ensemble comprised of 19 freshmen, sophomore, and junior members from Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, Nebraska, South Dakota and Minnesota. Odson was a member of both the flag and rifle lines in the guard this season.
