Snow problem Students who had to brave the elements. Vermillion residents were greeted Monday morning with one of their first real tastes of winter. A significant amount of snow began accumulating in the city Sunday night, and by Monday morning, people had to fire up their snowblowers or begin shoveling to clear driveways and sidewalks. The snow, accompanied by strong winds, continued through most of Monday, prompting the cancellation of just about every activity in town except for classes at USD. University maintenance personnel struggled to keep sidewalks clear for students who had to brave the elements.
