Vermillion JV rallies to defeat Lennox by Jim Prosser The Vermillion girls' junior varsity Tanagers rallied in the second half and then pulled away to beat the Lennox Orioles 49-40 in girls' basketball Jan. 23 at Lennox.
The Vermillion JV had trailed by six at halftime.
The Tanagers led 10-8 after the first quarter, trailed 24-18 at halftime, and then led 35-34 after the third quarter.
The Vermillion JV now has a record of 2-2, while LHS fell to 5-3.
The Vermillion JV connected on 1 of 4 three-pointers and sank 12 of 16 from the line. The Tanagers made 18 of 44 field goals, while LHS was 13 of 36 from the field. LHS sank 1 of 4 three-point attempts and made 13 of 19 free throw tries.
