Wed in August Sarah Margheim and J.C. (John Curtis) Neilson were married on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003 at Calvary Baptist Church in Yankton with the Rev. Larry Odle officiating.
Laurie McWilliams of Omaha, NE, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Don Neilson, Yankton, was best man for his brother. Bridesmaids were Candi Monroe, Sharps Chapel, TN, cousin of the bride, Amber Margheim, Vermillion, sister-in-law of the bride, and Kelsey Stevens, Yankton, friend of the couple. Serving as groomsmen for their brother were Andrew, Karl, and Michael Neilson, all of Yankton.
Ushers were Ty Margheim and Tim Margheim, Vermillion, brothers of the bride, Cyler Groseth, Yankton, and Luke Haidle, Mitchell, friends of the couple, and Karl Haemig, St. Paul, MN, friend of the groom. Sarah Armbrust, Vermillion, friend of the bride, was the personal attendant.
Flower girl was Madeline Feighner, Falls City, NE, cousin of the bride. Ring bearers were Johnathan Rohlf, Belle Fourche, cousin of the bride, and Alexander Luedtke, Brooks, Alberta, cousin of the groom. Bell ringers were David Rohlf, Belle Fourche, Conner Tuttle, Sioux Falls, Malorie and Dylan Feighner, Falls City, and Jerilyn, Jerron, and Jenny Cox, Palawan, Philippines, cousins of the bride; and Taylor Sieberer, Rosetown, Saskatchewan, and Kai Luedtke, Brooks, Alberta, cousins of the groom.
Special music was provided by Chris Heck, Vermillion, friend of the couple. Scripture reader was Sister Erin Colgan, Yankton, prayer partner of the groom. Guest book attendants were Kevin and Corly Kallin, Kansas City, friends of the couple.
A dinner reception, followed by a dance, was held at the Riverfront Events Center, with Chris Heck serving as DJ and Luke Haidle serving as host. Punch was served by Kirsten Spencer, Calgary, Alberta, and Kea Adachi, Edmonton, Alberta, cousins of the groom. Cake servers were the bride's friends Veronica Urquhart, Pierre, and Talisha Wiens, Windom, MN. Gift table attendants were Mary Jennewein, Yankton, friend of the couple, Jerilyn Cox, and Kai Luedtke.
Following a honeymoon to Cancun, Mexico, the couple are making their home in Yankton.
The bride is an alumnus of Vermillion High School. She is a student at The University of South Dakota, and will graduate in May 2004 with a bachelor of arts in communications disorders.
The groom is a 1996 graduate of Carlton Comprehensive High School in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. He graduated from Mount Marty College and is currently a fourth-year medical student at USD School of Medicine.
The bride is the daughter of Al and Ellen Margheim of Vermillion. The groom is the son of Douglas and DiAnne Neilson of Yankton.
