The library will be closed on Feb. 16 for the legal holiday of Presidents' Day. The library will reopen to patrons on Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 10 a.m. Books and materials may be deposited in the book and A/V drops located on the south side of the building.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance is a program offering free federal income tax preparation and e-filing to low-income, elderly, and non-English speaking taxpayers. Those interested in receiving this free assistance are asked to bring their W-2 and 1099 forms along with their last year's tax return and any other pertinent tax information to the Vermillion Public Library from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday nights. The Vermillion Public Library Book Club will meet on Thursday, Feb. 26 for a discussion of James Calvin Schaap's novel Touches the Sky. This is an account of the timeless theme of clashing cultures, when Dutch pioneers settle among the Lakota Sioux. The author is a professor of English at Dordt College, in Sioux Center, IA.
