Doug Hanson named to Academic All-NCC squad Senior guard Doug Hanson of the South Dakota men's basketball team was named to the 2003-04 Academic All-NCC men's basketball team Tuesday, according to an announcement by the league office.
Hanson, who owns a 3.448 GPA in business administration, is averaging 7.4 points per game on 46.9 percent shooting from the field (60-of-128) this season. Hanson, a native of Meckling, has started five games this season and averages 3.1 rebounds per game.
Sophomore forward Turner Trofholz was named honorable mention Academic All-NCC with a 3.318 GPA in physical education. A native of Schuyler, NE, Trofholz averages 13.6 points and 7.4 rebounds per game and ranks second in NCAA Division II in field goal percentage at 70.2 percent (134-of-191).
South Dakota (17-8, 6-6 NCC) returns to action this weekend when it plays host to in-state foes Augustana and South Dakota State on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Tip-off each night is set for 8 p.m.
