Gov. Rounds appoints motor vehicle task force Gov. Mike Rounds has announced the creation of a task force aimed at providing better protection for consumers, dealers and lenders involved in the purchasing and selling of motor vehicles in South Dakota.
The Motor Vehicle Consumer Protection Task Force will be comprised of representatives from the South Dakota Attorney General's Office, the South
Dakota Department of Revenue and Regulation, state's attorneys, lenders and vehicle dealers.
The governor said the task force will study all aspects of motor vehicle transactions including lending practices, the delivery of vehicle titles, and the current state titling process.
