Men have strong performance at Minnesota Invitational Led by Sam Pribyl's title in the pole vault, the South Dakota men's track and field team had a strong performance at the Minnesota Invite on Friday night in Minneapolis. USD captured two titles.
Pribyl, a junior from Webster, went 16'0 to win the pole vault competition. Also for USD, Adam Dunn of Rapid City, was sixth at 15'0 and Aaron Truckenbrod of Omaha, NE, was ninth in the pole vault at 14'6.
In addition, the USD 4×400-meter relay won a title with a clocking of 3:23.45.
Freshman Stefan Logan of Miami, FL, was second in the 60-meter dash with a clocking of 6.84. He was also fifth in the 200-meter dash in 23.40. Teammate Chad Erling of Bellevue, NE, was fourth in 23.07.
Junior Shane Roder of Linn Grove, IA, was second in the 800-meter run, clocking a time of 1:53.28.
Senior Wayne Reynolds of Omaha, NE, finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.27. Also taking fourth place was Jordon Davis, who went 22'1 in the long jump.
Colte Haines, a freshman from White Lake, was third in the triple jump at 44'4.75 and sixth in the long jump at 21'2.5.
Dan Tolsma of Vermillion, finished sixth in the weight throw with a toss of 51'2.25.
In the 400-meter dash, Jeremy Lynde of Sioux Falls, finished 10th in 52.55.
Next for the South Dakota men's track and field team is the North Central Conference Championships on Feb. 27-28 at Mankato, MN.
