Radigan retires from U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. William J. Radigan Jr, son of the late William J. Radigan Sr. and his wife Susie, has retired from the United States Air Force after having served 40 years on active duty.
Radigan joined the Air Force as an airman basic shortly after graduating from Vermillion High School in 1963. He retired as a lieutenant colonel and at the time, he was the Air Force's most decorated line officer. His numerous assignments included over 20 years of overseas duty where he twice served as a deputy wing commander, a deputy group commander and twice as a squadron commander.
He also deployed on numerous contingency operations serving as a senior intelligence officer. During his career, he also earned a B.S. degree from Oklahoma State University, an MBA from the University of North Dakota and is a graduate of the U.S. National Senior Cryptologic Course.
Radigan has two sons, Mike and Rick, and a daughter, Bonnie Jean. Rick is an Army Specialist stationed with the U.S. 8th Army in Korea. Radigan's wife, Jane is a Department of the Air Force civilian intelligence officer stationed at Ramstein, Germany. Upon her retirement, the couple will live in San Antonio, TX and Landstuhl, Germany.
