USD women have solid effort on track, field South Dakota recorded numerous top 10 finishes at the Parents' Day Open at the University of Minnesota on Saturday.
USD won two titles at the competition.
Freshman Stephanie Gebhart (Elkton) finished first in the 400-meter dash in 56.81. Senior Emily Fox (Sioux Falls) was second with a clocking of 57.42.
USD also won the 4×400-meter relay in 3:54.31.
Amanda Dykstra (Yankton) finished second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.77.
In the pole vault, Marci Miller (Rapid City) had a season-best of 12'06 and finished third.
In the 800-meter run, USD placed two runners in the top five, including Meghan Reifenrath (Rock Rapids, IA), who was fourth in 2:17.31 while Laura Schmitz (Jefferson) was fifth in 2:18.60.
Freshman Wesleigh Hardy (Spearfish) was third in the 1,000-meter run in 3:03.93. Freshman Amy Duba (Sioux Falls) was fourth in 3:04.25 while sophomore Mary Bennett (Scotland) finished eighth in 3:09.54.
Senior Brianne Vette-Edwards (Spearfish) took third in the 60-meter hurdles. Three other Coyotes finished in the top seven finishers. Senior Sarah Hoffman (Mitchell) was fifth in 9:02 while Diana Scott (Norfolk, NE) was sixth in 9.03 and freshman Mara McGill (Beresford) was seventh in 9.05.
In the throws, Tiffany Barber (Chester) was third in the shot put, going 44'9.5 while Susan Chamberlain (Earling, IA) finished fifth with a toss of 42'11.5. Kassidi Myrick (Winner.) was ninth in the shot put, going 39'6. Myrick was second in the weight throw with a toss of 53'10.5 with Chamberlain, third, 52'2.5. Mikala Larson (Council Bluffs, IA) was sixth in 47'5.75 and Barber, eighth, 46'6.
