Baseball umpires clinic is March 7 The District VIB Baseball Umpires Spring Clinic is scheduled for 4 p.m., Sunday, March 7 at the Eagles Club in Vermillion. The Eagles is located on Main Street on the south side of the street right across from Fullerton Lumber.

Topics to be discussed will be:

1. Rules knowledge.

2. Make the right call.

3. Judging pitches.

4. Altered vs. illegal bat.

5. Catcher's helmet.

The clinic will be conducted by District VIB umpires Randy Bertram and Rich Kotrba.
