Charity stripe misses end Vermillion's season by Jim Prosser The Vermillion Tanagers ended up on the wrong side of a fourth-quarter rally and dropped a close decision to the Dakota Valley Panthers 55-53 in boys' basketball March 4 at home in the first round of the District 8A tournament.

"Well, I'm not sure what to say," said Vermillion varsity coach Jason Huska. "We did everything we needed to win except hit our freethrows.
