Highway 19 meeting scheduled The South Dakota Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting on April 1 to discuss details of the Highway 19 construction project. The meeting will be held at the Clay Rural Water Plant on Highway 19 from 5 until 6 p.m. The plant can be accessed from the south. DOT staff and representatives from Foothills Contracting of Webster, will be on hand to answer questions about the project.
Work on Highway 19 north of Vermillion has resumed for the 2004 construction season. The highway is closed to through traffic between the bypass at the north edge of Vermillion to Highway 46, two miles south of Centerville. Thru traffic is being detoured to I-29. Local traffic is being maintained on the project.
Crews have also started work on four out of six total bridges on the north 10 miles of Highway 19. Regrading of the entire roadway is scheduled to start the first week of April.
