Mediacom offers dish customers new incentives Mediacom Communications (Mediacom) is offering Dish Network and all satellite service subscribers a digital cable cost-saving package of more than $400 in qualifying markets, free priority installation and a channel lineup with the local broadcast stations including CBS and other Viacom-owned networks such as Comedy Central, MTV, MTV 2, Nick at Nite, VH-1, VH-1 Classic and Nickelodeon.
Mediacom's campaign comes as Dish Network subscribers lost many of Viacom's networks and in some areas even Viacom's CBS local station, due to a contract dispute.
To show support for satellite customers in the Vermillion area who can no longer view these services, Mediacom will install digital television service for free within one business day (Monday through Saturday) after the order is placed. Mediacom has set up a toll free number 1-866-345-6767 for priority installation.
According to Todd Behrends, Mediacom's communications manager, "Unlike Dish Network, we are a local service which means including local broadcast and community stations in our channel lineup is not an option, but a commitment, which guarantees our cable subscribers receive all of these stations in their area. "Our line-up of local broadcast stations, our solid relationship with program companies like Viacom, and our sensitivity to carrying networks that meet our customers' viewing demands and wallet gives us the opportunity to provide a rich and robust lineup of valuable and affordable services," he said.
In addition to the free priority installation, any satellite customer who signs up for the next 16 months for any level of Mediacom Digital cable service will receive a $25 monthly credit until the full amount of $400 is received.
Digital cable from Mediacom includes hundreds of news, entertainment and local broadcast and community channels, an onscreen interactive program guide, and CD quality music channels. Mediacom's satellite savings package is being offered through March 31.
