Senior Spotlight by Nicole Mosberger Nicholas Sean Skonhovd is the son of proud parents Tony and Teresa Skonhovd. He was raised in the small community of Wakonda and has gone to school in Wakonda his whole life. He has two brothers, Eric, 17, and Casey, 11, and a sister, Jamie, 21, who is attending Dakota State University.
Nick, known as "Skunny," will be missed by all after he graduates and goes off to college in the fall. He will be attending South Dakota State University or Northwestern University, where he will major in political science and minor in pre-law.
Nick said the most inspirational people in his life are his parents. He said, "My parents have always taught me to work hard in everything I do and to treat everyone with respect."
Nick has been involved in band three years, basketball four years, cross country four years and track four years.
Nick said his most memorable moment was winning the state cross country meet this year. He said his favorite teacher memory was when Mr. Meyer reminded him that he had left out the L in the word "public."
Nick said what he is going to miss most about being in high school is his friends, sports, and home-cooked meals.
When asked about what he could change about his high school experience he said, "I wouldn't change a thing; I have had some good memories here in Wakonda."
