Swine producers clinic set A swine producers educational clinic is scheduled for Friday, April 2 at the Southeast Research Farm near Beresford. Starting time is 1:30 p.m.
Featured speakers are Robert Thaler, SDSU Extension swine specialist and Dick Nicolai, SDSU Extension engineer.
Thaler will be presenting information regarding distillers by-products in swine diets and how these by-products effect ration economics, reduce ileitis in growing and finishing swine and their effect on carcass quality.
Nicolai will present detailed information on management and reduction of swine confinement odor through the use of biofilters. He will cover design, set up and cost. The clinic will conclude at approximately 3:45 p.m. with a tour of the biofilter system at the research farm.
