Tanager basketball team season recap by Jim Prosser For the statistics-oriented reader, the following is a recapitulation of the Tanager boys' basketball team's season for 2003-04.
After an opening eight "away" game sequence which brought a 4 win 4 loss result, the team won two home contests before continuing the "away" procedure for five more games in a row.
The mid season record of 8 4 included victories over South Sioux, Parkston, Elk Point/Jefferson, and West Central. The final regular season of 13 6 showed wins over district and/ or regional foes Dakota Valley and Beresford as well as Alcester/Hudson, Canton, and Arlington .
The District 8 A semi-finals pitted the Tanagers against the DV Panthers which became a real "downer" when a somewhat comfortable lead vanished in a late rally which doomed the homestanding Redbirds to a last second 55-53 loss and the end of an otherwise successful campaign.
