USD defeats Mansfield 6-3 The South Dakota baseball team (5-6) used a five-run first inning en route to a 6-3 win over Mansfield March 11 at the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers, FL. USD has now won four games in a row.
Senior Bryan Hohenthaner (Sioux Falls) led the Coyotes at the plate with a double and two RBI. Junior Chris Fielder (Aliso Viejo, CA) added a double and an RBI, while junior John Quade (Sioux City, IA) and junior Cress Murdock (Lakewood, CA) each drove in a run.
Junior Brian Kungl picked up the victory for South Dakota, improving to 1-2 on the season.
