USD receives grant to help make government contracts At the beginning of this year, The University of South Dakota's Business Research Bureau was awarded $142,000 to assist businesses in the state in contracting with government agencies.

This grant from the Department of Defense has been used to fund offices in Sioux Falls and Rapid City. The State of South Dakota provided match dollars for this cooperative agreement.

The contract with the Department of Defense is to operate a Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) which will provide assistance to South Dakota businesses who wish to contract with any local, state or federal government agency. The South Dakota PTAC can help businesses locate government contracting opportunities; prepare proposals or bids; contractor registration; problem resolution; find information about specifications, standards and product buying history; and general and specific information about selling your product or service to government agencies.

The South Dakota PTAC will be located in the Business Information Center offices in Sioux Falls and Rapid City. For more information contactKareen Dougherty at 605-367-5252 (Sioux Falls) or Eric Christianson at 605-394-5311 (Rapid City).
