Coyote women golfers capture Augustana title The South Dakota women's golf team took the Augustana Spring Invitational title April 3 with a team score of 336 at Willow Run Golf Course in Sioux Falls.
The Coyotes had four players finish in the top-10 individual standings en route to the four-stroke victory over second-place South Dakota State.
USD was led by Keri Meyerink, who finished third with an 11-over-par 82. Karrie Plate tied for fourth with an 84, while Krissy Woita fired an 84 to finish in a tie for sixth. Jessica Toundreau was South Dakota's fourth top-10 finisher, taking ninth with an 87.
Starr Jones rounded out South Dakota's scoring with a 106, which was good enough for 28th place.
Coyote Invitational
Freshman Karrie Plate of the South Dakota women's golf team took individual medallist honors with a two-round score of 155 at the Coyote Invitational April 5 at The Bluffs Golf Course in Vermillion.
Plate, a Vermillion native, coupled her round of 79 on Sunday with a 4-over-par 76 today enroute to her three-stroke victory.
South Dakota State won the team competition with a 657, while USD was second with a 663.
Junior Keri Meyerink (Mitchell) finished in a tie for fifth with a 162, including a score of 80 in the day's final round.
Freshman Krissy Woita (Lincoln, NE) was one stroke back, finishing in a tie for seventh with a 163.
The Coyotes return to action this weekend when they travel to Winona, MN, for the Spring Best Western Riverport Inn Invitational April 9-10.
