Fund raiser for Wakonda library story time planned by Nicole Mosberger Every year the Wakonda Community Library holds Story Time for young children from preschool age to seventh- graders. Librarian Angela Grider said, "It gives kids something to do in the summer."
Story Time gets broken into three groups. The first group consists of 3 to 5-year-olds. The second group is for 6- to 7-year -olds and the third group is for 8-year-olds or older.
The Story Time theme for this summer is based on Lewis and Clark. It is called Discover New Trails at Your Library.
At Story Time the kids will be read to, get to check books out, and read themselves, too. They also get to take part in rock painting, and doing crafts, such as making bookmarks and necklaces.
Story Time will be one to three days a week starting in the middle of June this year. The date is not yet final. Story Time usually about an hour and juice and snacks are served.
This year the Story Time kids are also going on a field trip to the Washington Pavilion or to the Butterfly Park in Sioux Falls. To cover the expenses of taking the kids there, the library is currently fund raising.
The library is selling Avon Bug Guard. The products available are Bug Guard Spray, Regular Bug Guard Lotion, and Blue Kids Bug Guard. If you would like to purchase Bug Guard and help out the Wakonda Public Library Fund Raiser, you can talk to Angela Grider at the library or call her at 267-2644.
The library needs all the help it can get. Also if you are interested in helping out with Story Time, volunteering to drive or be a chaperone for the field trip, you can contact Grider.
The Wakonda Community Library wants to make this a fun enjoyable summer for the kids.
