Golfers defeat Trojans by Jim Prosser The Tanager girls' golf team won its dual match Monday, April 19 versus West Central.
The dual was played at The Bluffs in Vermillion. The temperature had cooled down to the 60s range, a 30 degree drop from Sunday's 93.
A slight northerly wind aided the play on holes #1, 2, 6, 8, 10, 11, and 12 but raised havoc on the other 11 holes, and all the girls persevered as well as could be expected.
The varsity girls placed first with a 353 score, while the Lady Trojans finished with 367.
Capturing medalist honors was the Tanager's Jackie Thomas with a 79 for the 18 hole match.
Other Tanager scoring results were: Chelsea Gauer � 89;
Anna Isaacson � 90; Sarah Christopherson � 95; and Paige Prosser � 116.
The JV matches also were 18 hole competitions. Vermillion swept the match 449-507 over West Central.
VHS JV scoring was: Sara Mayer � 98 (medalist); Lauren Higgins � 106; Kelsey Osbourne � 120; Clare Bucklin � 125; Melaney Porter � 140; and Liz Day �149.
