On upper Lake Oahe, fishing is excellent near Pollock in the Jones Bay and Artesian Well areas. Limits of fish are being caught with several fish over 20 inches. Jig and minnow or lindy tipped with a minnow works best.

Near Mobridge, walleye fishing from a boat is good with the average fish being 17 inches. Anglers are using a jig and minnow in 10 to 20 feet. Northern, walleye and catfish are being caught from shore. At Akaska and Gettysburg walleye fishing is slow but should pick up with the warm weather. Catfish are being caught in the bays.

On lower Lake Oahe, fishing for catfish is good in the major creeks and the northern bite is fair. Other fishing remains rather slow with weather dictating the bite.

On Lake Sharpe, the walleye bite is slow to fair from Pierre to West Bend with some limits being taken. Fishermen are doing good catching white bass near Farm Island and the Stilling Basin. Trout are being caught in Oahe Marina.

Walleye fishing is real good near Chamberlain in the Crow Creek and Kiowa Flats areas. A lot of fish were caught in a tournament over the weekend using a jig and minnow or straight hook and bottom bouncer trolling in 15 to 18 feet. Near Platte, walleye fishing is slow but some are being caught casting a jig to shore or with a plug on lead core in 35 feet. Evening shore fishing is fair to good. Some smallmouth bass are being caught in the creeks.

In the Pickstown area, walleye fishing below the dam has been fair to good using a jig and minnow. Walleye are being caught in the boat bay and the fast water. Trout are on a hot bite.

Near Yankton, walleye are biting on the river using a jig and minnow. Catfish are biting above and below the dam. Nice walleye and sauger along with largemouth and smallmouth bass are being caught near the "bubble" and on Lake Yankton. Anglers are catching crappies around the marina.
