Logue wins Haines Scholarship University of South Dakota student Ashley Logue has been awarded a $2,150 Haines Scholarship for the 2004-2005 academic year by the South Dakota Board of Regents.
Administered by the Board of Regents, the scholarship is awarded each year to a regental university sophomore, junior, or senior who is pursuing studies leading to a teaching certificate. Applicants are evaluated on the basis of their GPA, high school and college memberships, services and activities, and statements of personal and educational philosophy.
The Haines Scholarship was established by Douglas Fugitt in memory of his wife, Dora Lee Haines, and her three sisters, all teachers in one-room rural schools in. The fund is an open endowment to which additional gifts may be made at any time through the South Dakota board of Regents.
Logue is currently a sophomore at USD. She is pursuing a B.S. degree in elementary and special education.
