Lunch with Lewis & Clark at Vermillion Public Library Have "Lunch with Lewis and Clark" at the Vermillion Public Library Tuesday, April 13.
Paleocuisineologist¨ Mary Gunderson, author of The Food Journal of Lewis and Clark: Recipes for an Expedition, will share tales of the explorers' journey through the foods they ate along the trail at the library's annual literary luncheon.
A special menu of smoked turkey, a dish of sweet potatoes, new potatoes and onions, and green salad with chive cream dressing will be served at 11:30 a.m. Gunderson will speak at 12:10 p.m.
Copies of Gunderson's book will be available for purchase and autographing by the author.
Gunderson will be the guest speaker at the annual literary luncheon, one of the activities celebrating National Library Week at the Vermillion Public Library. Tickets are $9 and can be purchased at the library's circulation desk on or before April 8.
The Friends of the Vermillion Public Library will also sponsor a Scholastic Book Sale April 15-18.
