Obituaries Willard Peterson
Willard Peterson, 88, of Vermillion, died Thursday, March 24, 2004, at Sioux Valley Vermillion Hospital.
Services were 10:30 a.m. March 27 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Vermillion, with Rev. Judith Johnson and Rev. Ed Anderson officiating. Burial was in the BluffView Cemetery, Vermillion, with graveside honors by Vermillion V.F.W. Clay Post No. 3061.
Visitation was one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
Iverson-Siecke Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Peterson was born July 2, 1915 in Beresford to Julius and Mabell (Carlson) Peterson. He graduated from Beresford High School and attended South Dakota State for two years. He served in the U.S. Army for three years during World War II.
On Aug. 6, 1947, he married Evelyn Jorgensen in Vermillion. He worked as a parts clerk for Oden International Harvestor Implement dealer for 32 years, retiring in 1981.
Mr. Peterson, who lived in Vermillion for 60 years, was a member of the Vermillion V.F.W. and Trinity Lutheran Church, Vermillion.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn of Vermillion; and a sister-in-law, Norma Peterson, Seal Beach, CA.
