Pre-school screening, kindergarten round-up scheduled April 14-15 by Nicole Mosberger School is almost over for Wakonda students. Soon next year's 2004-2005 school year will be approaching quickly. Wakonda School is hosting a pre-school screening April 14 and Kindergarten round-up April 15.
The pre-school screening will be held in the new gym lobby and parts of the new elementary addition from 8:30 a.m. until noon. The Kindergarten round-up will be held in the new gym lobby and parts of the new elementary addition. Children have to be 5 years old by Sept. 1 to participate.
Parents will receive informational hand outs and free gifts for their children.
The children will participate in screening for gross motor skills, fine motor skills, communication, concepts, hearing and health for free. Along with the screening, refreshments will be served.
The screening fair will be given by pre-school teachers, speech/language pathologists, school/county nurses, administration and support staff with input from other agencies.
This screening fair is a joint effort of the Wakonda School District, Southeast Area Cooperative, and Southeast Birth to Three Connections, and Head Start.
All preschoolers are invited to attend. Also screenings for infants/toddlers birth to three years will be available by appointment. If you would like to have a screening done for your child age 0-3, please contact the Wakonda Elementary Principal's office at 267-2644.
