Senior Spotlight by Amber Skonsberg "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart." Within Heather Hessman's favorite quote, one can tell that she is a loving person who always seems to see the better things in life.
Along with her parents, Ruth and Doug, Mrs. Light has always been there to push Heather to do the things she never thought possible for herself.
"Mrs. Light always knew that I could do anything," said Heather.
With the help of her teachers and family, Heather is now leaving her younger siblings Shawn, Casey and Melissa here to continue school.
"I'm really going to miss her," said her younger sister Casey "It will be hard for me ?"
Heather is going to Mitchell Technical Institute for culinary arts.
Throughout her school years, Heather will probably take thousands of memories with her. Memories like hanging out with friends, helping out with lunch, and having class parties for the teachers' birthdays.
But along with these memories there are things that she regrets not doing while she still had the chance to do it.
"Listening in class, talking more to people, getting better grades and being more involved with my classmates are all things I wish I had done more," said Heather.
While attending Wakonda, Heather participated in band for two years; volleyball for two years; chorus for four years; and Teens-in-Action for one year.
Heather is a great person who will always be remembered by her friends and teachers here at Wakonda.
