Tanager baseball reverses losing trend by Jim Prosser In what must be considered a turn of events, the Tanagers posted a 5-4 victory April 14, against the Orioles in Lennox.
Brad Schaack started and gave up a scattering of six hits in 5 innings, before running out of gas and an untimely error sent him to the field.
He was relieved by Ben Oberle who went the rest of the game allowing 1 hit, and 5 infield outs to shut down the Orioles.
Schaack was credited with 5 Ks and gave up only one walk and a total 9 hits to claim the win. Oberle was given the save.
The defense was excellent, with the exception of the error which led to an unearned run, and the offense contributed a satisfying 7 hits and 5 runs, led by Collin Prosser who went 3 for 4 batting with 2 rbi.
Line scores: Vermillion 5 runs, 7 hits, 2 errors, 8 lob; Lennox 4 runs, 10 hits, 2 errors, 7 lob.
