Tanager girls are fourth at EP-J Invite at EP-J Huskies Invite by Jim Prosser The Tanager girls track team scored 64.5 points to place fourth among 13 teams at the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies Invitational last Tuesday, April 6. Teams from a three-state area were in attendance. Vermillion scorers in field events were:
Annie Carlson placed third and Annie Roche sixth in the long jump; Carlson was fourth in the high jump, and third in the triple jump.
The other field events found Jaccque Smidt at sixth in the shot put.
In the 100M dash, Nicki Nelson was sixth; Alicia Brown placed first in the 200M dash (26.4) with Alexa Walker placing sixth. Finishing second in the 3200M run was Katarina Gombocz (12:12.28) � a state qualifying time.
In the relays, first place was scored in the the 4x200M by relay team (Nelson, Heather Heine, Roche, and Brown). The 4x400M relay team came in fourth place (Morgan Brooks, Heine, Brittney Babb, and Brittney Gilkyson).
The medley relay team finished fourth � (Nelson, Babb, Gilkyson, and Brooks). The 4×100 team was second (Ariel Hofman, Walker, Roche, and Brown).
