Tanagers compete at Dan Lennon Invite by Jim Prosser With upwards of 1,000 athletes participating in the Class A section of the Dan Lennon Invitational Track Meet, the VHS boys' and girls' track and field teams joined in the competition and came away with a lot of success on Monday, March 29.
Results for the Tanager girls competing were: Triple Jump � Annie Carlson 7th; Long Jump � Carlson 8th; 3200M run � Katarina Gombocz 10th; 60M dash � Alicia Brown 8th.
In the relays: 4×200 � (Nicki Nelson, Heather Heine, Ariel Hofman, Alicia Brown) 9th; 1600M sprint medley � (Nelson, Brown, Brittney Gilkyson, Morgan Brooks) 10th; and 4x400M relay � (Heine, Brittney Babb, Gilkyson, Brooks) 9th.
For the boys' division the placers for Vermillion were: 400M dash � Chad Teigen 5th; Shot Put � Kellen Cusick 7th; 4x200M relay � (B.J. Campbell, Tyler Brown, Kellen Cusick, and Ben Obere) 8th; 1600M sprint medley � (Campbell, Cusick, Brown, Justin Manning) 6th; and 4x400M relay � (Brown, Chad Teigen, Chris Teigen, Oberle) 3rd.
