USD golfers finish fourth at Spring Best Led by Keri Meyerink's eighth-place finish, the South Dakota Women's Golf Team finished fourth at the Spring Best Western Riverport Meet at the Cedar Valley Golf Club in Winona, MN, on April 9-10.
South Dakota shot a two-day total of 708, including rounds of 355 and 353. Nebraska-Omaha won the meet with a 643 (317-326). South Dakota State finished second at 682 (341-341) with Winona State third at 688 (348-340). USD was fourth and Concordia St. Paul, fifth, 769 (383-386).
Meyerink, of Mitchell, finished with a score of 167, including rounds of 87 and 80. Tanis Hastman of Nebraska-Omaha shot a 152 (77-75) to claim medallist honors.
Aside from Meyerink, other USD results included Jessica Tondreau (South Sioux City, NE), 14th, 177 (89-88); Karrie Plate (Vermillion), 21st, 182 (90-92); Krissy Woita (Lincoln, NE), 23rd, 187 (89-98); and Starr Jones (Sheldon, IA), 29th, 200 (107-93).
Next for the Coyote women's golf team is the Maverick Invitational at the Lakeside Country Club in Mankato, MN, on April 17-18.
