Vermillion baseball loses to Lennox 9-6 at EP-J Huskies Invite by Jim Prosser The Vermillion Tanagers baseball team lost to the Lennox Orioles Wednesday April 7, at Prentis Park in Vermillion.

Nine miscues were costly as Lennox scored only six earned runs in their 9-6 win.

Jason Donald started, going three plus innings, being charged with 8 runs on 5 hits and 3 walks (but with the team committing 5 fielding errors). He was relieved by Ben Oberle who went 4 innings allowing 1 hit, 1 run and 2 walks while registering 3 strikeouts (but suffering through another 4 more fielding errors).

The team's offense was adequate but not enough to overcome the 9 run outcome for the Orioles.

Line scores: Vermillion � 6 runs, 11 hits, 9 errors, 13 lob; Lennox � 9 runs, 6 hits, 1 error, 10 lob.

Tanager offensive stats: BJ Campbell � 2 for 4, 1 run; Oberle � 1 for 5, 2 rbi; Ryan Mockler � 1 for 3, 1 run; Donald � 2 for 5, 1 rbi; Sam Laprath � 1 for 3, 1 run; Brad Schaack � 2 for 4, 1 run, 1 rbi; Brandon Hansen � 1 for 2, 1 run; and Zach Weiss � 1 for 3, 1 run.

The varsity season record stands at 1-3.
