Vermillion boys’ team places fourth at Canton

Vermillion boys' team places fourth at Canton by Jim Prosser The Vermillion Tanager boys' track and field team placed fourth with 75 points at the 2004 Canton Relays April 13. There were eight schools represented at the meet.

In the shot put, Kellen Cusick placed third and Donny Stewart claimed fourth place.

Ben Oberle placed second in the 200M dash; Max Swanson was sixth in the 400M dash; and Chris Teigen came in second in the 300M hurdles.

Craig Powell won the 800M in 2:10.03; and Justin Manning placed fourth in the 1600M.

The Tanagers placed sixth in the 4x100M relay with the team of BJ Campbell, Cusick, Chris Teigen and Oberle; and second in the 4x200M (Campbell, Cusick, Teigen and Oberle).

Vermillion's squad of Chris Teigen, Manning, Chad Teigen and Oberle crossed was first across the finish line in in the 4x400M with a time of 3:39.43

The Tanager relay team of Powell, Mitch Bierle, Chad Teigen and Manning was first in the 4x800M relay with a time of 8:41.68.

The medley relay team of Campbell, Cusick, Chad Teigen, and Manning finished second.
