Book family benefit planned Meal, dance, auction set June 12 Wakonda, Irene, Viborg and other communities have rallied around Trudy Book and her family since the tragic death of her husband Edd Book. Trudy is also facing many health issues as a result of the familial polycysistic kidney disease that she has.
Trudy has been receiving wonderful family support from her brothers and sisters and children as well as her sisters-in-law, Ruth Book Williams and Joyce Nelson Orr.
The communities have planned a benefit event for the Book family including a meal, an auction and a dance.�The event is being planned for June 12, with a pork loin meal to begin at 5 p.m. and an auction to begin at 7 p.m. with the dance to follow.�
Come and enjoy a fun evening and help out a family in need.
Donations are being accepted at this time for any articles from individuals or businesses, that can be auctioned. Items might include collectibles, ag products or services, sports equipment, meat, vehicles�new or used toys, hand made items, art,�or anything useable that you would be willing to donate for the auction.
A list of contributions can be found in the Wakonda Community Cafe. If you cannot contribute, please attend the auction and take home a prized possession!
Trudy taught school in Onida and Viborg, and they both taught at Bonesteel, Murdo and DeSmet before returning to Wakonda where Trudy has taught art and English for several years. Currently she teaches half time in Irene and half time in Wakonda.�
