Summer reading at Wakonda Library by Bethany Parvin Join us this summer as we explore trails of all kinds through programs, books and activities at Wakonda Community Library.
The 2004 Summer Reading Program, "Discover New Trails at Your Library," is open to young people, preschool age through young adult, with programs, prize drawings, story hours, and reading club, artist in residence, field trips, and craft projects.
We are also inviting families to join the program for the Read Aloud Portion of the program. A variety of programs will be offered for all ages.
Summer Reading will start on June 29 and continue through August. Story time will start be from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Children ages 3 to 5 will come on Tuesdays, children ages 6 to 8 will come on Wednesdays, and children ages 8 and up will come on Thursdays.
Registration will be on June 29, 30, and July 1.
The library is looking for a few volunteers to help out this year with different activities and also drivers for the field trip reward at the end of the summer. If anyone is interested or would like more information please call Angela Grider at 605-267-2644 or 605-267-2685.
The library welcomes children of all abilities. All programs are free of charge!
The Wakonda Library will be starting its summer hours on June 1: Tuesdays: 2 to 5:30 p.m.; Wednesdays: 2 to 5:30 p.m.; Thursdays: 2 to 5:30 p.m.
