The Bluffs Bulletin Board Senior golfers love sunshine
There were 49 happy seniors at The Bluffs May 18 who loved the sunshine, the moderate temperatures, and the challenge of this fine golf course. Scores were bunched and competition was keen. We had a team of Mo Marcotte, Ron Brown, Van Pierce and a guest Rich Morse, post a fine 33, threeunder par. We congratulate them on this fine effort.
Other winners included Alan Clem, Dick Munkvold, Howard Connors and Dave Bak at even par 36. The team of Harlan Schott, Lloyd Helseth and Jerry Johnson were next with a like score of 36. Our next team of Ross Johnson, Pete Berglund, Cleland Cook and Maurice Erickson had our third 36.
They were followed by Mel Marcotte, Ken Beringer, Ron Turner and Tim O'Connor at 37 and two teams at 39, Max Anderson, Duncan McGregor and Bob Lund and the team of Jerry Sommervold, Cal Petersen and Berwyn Svoboda.
The seniors had 12 birdies this date and our winners scored three of them. Our shot-of-the-day award is shared by Tim O'Connor for a 24-foot birdie putt on #5 and Howard Connors for his 26-foot downhill birdie putt on #3.
Golf for the seniors will be at 1 p.m. sharp next week. Plan to join the seniors for fun and good golf.
It was nice to have Ray Mount back and Dick Gregory and Rich Morse with us for golf this date. You are most welcome.

Thirty-nine ladies enjoyed tasty beef sandwiches with salad and fruit. Yummy chocolate cake was served by Dorothy Dahlman, Fritz Lefler, and Karine Amundson.
We had a guest from Cedar Rapids, Shari Barden, Peg Amant's daughter.
