USD to host annual leadership luncheon The University of South Dakota, the W.O. Farber Center for Civic Leadership, and The University of South Dakota Foundation will sponsor the fourth annual Governor's Leadership Luncheon at noon on May 15 at the DakotaDome in Vermillion.
This unique event is designed to honor outstanding high school sophomores from South Dakota, Iowa and Nebraska.
Nominated by officials at their respective schools, the students will be recognized for their contributions in and out of the classroom and for their potential to be future leaders of their schools, communities, states and nation.
The event will include a lunch and feature a presentation by Jamison A. Rounds, brother of South Dakota Governor M. Michael Rounds, alumnus of USD, and current director of the Governor's Office of Strategic Initiative.
Each student will also receive a certificate honoring his or her exceptional attributes and extraordinary service.
The event also receives support from the office of the president and the office of student life at The University of South Dakota.
