Winner announced for Basin Scholarship The Clay-Union Electric/ Basin Electric Scholarship, in the amount of $1,000, has been awarded to Lindsey Isaacson, daughter of Randy and Mary Isaacson of Vermillion.
Isaacson attends Vermillion High School, and has been active in a multitude of school activities during the past four years. In the area of athletics, she has participated in cross country, track and was a member of the dance team. In academic activities, she has taken part in oral interpretation, debate, Student Congress, extemporaneous speaking, Student Council, National Honors Society and one-act plays.
She also has been involved in music activities such as concert band, marching band, jazz band, show band, jazz combo, and the concert and show choirs.
In the area of community service, she has been a member of Teen Angels, and worked with the meal of the month program and the Welcome Table. She has also worked on blood drives and has been active in political campaign activities.
Isaacson plans on attending either Cornell College, located at Mt. Vernon, IA, or Augustana College in Sioux Falls, where she plans to major in music education. Upon graduation, she would like to take up a career as a music instructor, with emphasis on choir and percussion.
Clay-Union Electric congratulates Isaacson on winning this scholarship and wishes her much success with her future plans for her education and career.
