Antique tractor, collector car auction scheduled June 18-19 The sixth annual antique tractor and collector car auction will be held June 18-19 in Wakonda.
The auction will feature over 135 restored and original antique and collector tractors.
Also selling will be a large collection of antique automobiles.
Highlights include: a 1918 Transport Truck, a 1940 Ford Deluxe with only 14,000 actual miles, a 1948 Mack 1-ton truck that is beautifully restored, and a 1979 Dodge Little Red Express pickup the fastest production vehicle of that year.
Other vehicles include a 1976 Cadillac Eldorado convertible, a 1929 Ford Model A Cabriolet, the fanciest Ford made in that year, and a 1948 Whizzer motorbike that is wonderfully restored.
The auction features some of the rarest of the rare of early farm equipment and automotives.
Also selling will be hundreds of pieces of horse drawn equipment and early farm implements.
Included with this is an original Charter Oak triple box horse drawn wagon, nearly 100 years old that still looks like new.
An original John Deere horse-drawn buggy, made before the company began building tractors, will also be on the auction block.
"This is truly a collection you will have to see to believe," said Ken Girard of Girard Auction Service, Inc. "Buyers and spectators from around the country will be in the tiny town of Wakonda to bid on all of the items."
Phone calls have poured in for this event; even a gentlemen from England has made arrangements to be in Wakonda. The auction is expected to attract over 2,500 people.
