Book benefit planned June 12 Friends and family have been busy organizing a benefit for Trudy (Orr) Book and her family.
A supper, auction and dance are the agenda for the benefit that is on Saturday, June 12, at the Wakonda Legion Hall, Wakonda.
The supper is a free will donation and the menu is pork loin sandwiches, salads, baked beans, potato chips, pickles, juice and coffee. The meal will start at 5 p.m. During dinner, Nick Schwebach and Owen Dejong will provide music.
The auction will start at 7 p.m. There are numerous auction items, such as children's toys, framed and unframed pictures, antiques, furniture, beauty products, savings bonds, agricultural labor, quilts and afghans, farm toys, clothing, food, tools, gift certificates and much more!
Music will follow the auction.
Modern Woodmen of America Camp 2480, Emerson, is sponsoring matching funds. District representative is Cathy Lynch.
Thrivent is donating a cash contribution. An account has been opened at First Premier Bank in Wakonda for cash donations.
