Ekstrom research featured in journal Recent research by Dr. Richard Ekstrom, associate professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at The University of South Dakota, is currently being featured in the May issue of the Journal of Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy (JOSTP), a prominent research journal of the discipline.
Ekstrom's article, "Comparing the Function of the Upper and Lower Parts of the Serratus Anterior Muscle Using Surface Electromyography" is the featured research report, and his picture is featured on the cover of the print edition, as well as reproduced in the Web edition of the journal, which can be viewed at http://www.jospt.org
The Journal of Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy was first published in the summer of 1979, within 10 years of the establishment of the Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Sections of the American Physical Therapy Association. At that time, the combined membership of these sections approached 5,000; today, the Orthopaedic Section and what for many years has been known as the Sports Physical Therapy Section together number more than 17,500.
Initially published as a quarterly journal, the JOSPT is delivered monthly to APTA Section members as well as 2,000 additional subscribers located in the United States and in 39 countries around the world and is available continuously on the Internet through this World Wide Web site.
