Junior golf challenge makes first stop for the 2004 season by Jim Prosser The Austad Golf Company of Sioux Falls, has implemented a new junior tour consisting of eight tournaments conducted every Monday, beginning June 7, through Aug. 9.
Points are awarded for the finishers in each division (boys and girls) and all golfers will accumulate points earned over the whole tournament season.
On June 7, the first stop was held at The Bluffs involving seventh-eighth, ninth-10th and 11th-12th grades for boys and girls, and anyone from junior high who feels they can compete.
Vermillion's entrants with their scores and places at The Bluffs were:
Seventh-eighth boys
Aaron Steele � 88, fifth; Eric Ustad � 93, sixth; Cole Andre � 95, seventh.
Ninth-10th boys
Jordan Boots � 78, first
11th-12th boys
Chris Moen � 85, sixth; Charles Odson � 87, seventh.
Ninth-10th girls
Anna Isaacson � third.
11th-12th girls
Jackie Thomas � 85, second.
The remaining venues are: Fox Run, Yankton (June 14), Lakeview, Mitchell (June 21), Broadland Creek, Huron (June 28), Brandon Country Club, Brandon (July 12), Edgebrook, Brookings (July 19), Spring Creek, Harrisburg (Aug. 2), and Willow Run, Sioux Falls (Aug. 9).
