Obituaries Elizabeth Osborn

Elizabeth (Betty) Whittemore Osborn, 85, died Aug. 6, 2003 in Winfield, KS. She was born on Feb. 5, 1918 in Vermillion, to Arthur and Helen Austin Whittemore.

She graduated Phi Beta Kappa in bacteriology from The University of South Dakota in 1939. She worked for the Kansas Department of Health in Topeka. She married Robert K. Osborn on Jan. 8, 1942 in Topeka, KS. They lived in Pensacola, FL, during World War II and moved to Stockton, KS, after the war.

She was active in church and civic work and assisted her husband in his law office for many years. She was a member of P.E.O.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a son, Robert Whittemore Osborn; sisters, Helen Vann, Dorothy Olson, Rosalind Tollefson; and a brother, Arthur Whittemore.

She is survived by a son, Mark and wife, Susan Osborn, Frazer, PA; daughters, Priscilla and husband, David All, Augusta, KS, and Barbara and husband, Fred Humpert, Winfield KS; also eight grandchildren, Stacy All, Mall All, Sarah Osborn Cox, Nathan Osborn, Rachel Osborn, Beth Humpert Wren, Andrew Humpert, and Katy Humpert; and two great-grandchildren, Helena and Thomas All.

Memorial services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Vermillion, on Saturday, June 26, at 10 a.m. Burial took place in Stockton, KS.

There is a memorial to the Austin-Whittemore Museum, Vermillion.

Mary Coopman

Mary Catherine Coopman, 85, Saugus, CA, died June 14, 2004 in Saugus.

Visitation was June 18 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Valley Funeral Home, Burbank, CA. A Mass of Christian burial was held June 19 at Santa Clara Chapel, Oxnard, CA. Interment followed the service at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura, CA.

Mrs. Coopman was born June 28, 1918 in Vermillion. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her son Ken Coopman and his wife Evelyn, and a granddaughter, Kendal.
