Veterans, auxiliary members honored at Memorial Day service On Monday, May 31, the Wakonda Legion and Auxiliary honored 24 World War II vets and 18 long-time members of Auxiliary. Each received a certificate and a free ham dinner to commemorate the day.
Eleven of the men and 12 of the women attended.
The meal was served in the newly remodeled Legion Hall with 160 people in attendance.
