Visitor center now open Lewis and Clark Visitor Center near Gavins Point Dam, is now open on weekends.
The visitor center, operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the National Park Service, features exhibits about Lewis and Clark, Native American culture, Missouri River history and natural resources.
Summer hours for the visitor center are Sunday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is free.

Gavins Point Power Plant tours have also begun. Tours include an inside look on how power is generated at Gavins Point. Tours are held Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and major holidays through Labor Day weekend. Hours are 10 and 11 a.m. and 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 p.m. Tours are free. No appointment is needed for groups of six or less.
