4-H horse show is July 27-28 in Huron The South Dakota State 4-H horse show will take place July 27-28 at the South Dakota State Fairgrounds in Huron.
A pre-show quiz bowl competition is scheduled for July 26 at 5:30 p.m.
The regular show begins on Tuesday, July 27 at 8 a.m. Tuesday's competitions include horse project demonstrations, roping, showmanship, pleasure riding, western riding, hippology contest, horse judging contest, and draft showmanship.
The program on Wednesday, July 28, starts at 8:15 a.m. Activities include equitation, trail, speed/timed events, and reining.
The South Dakota State 4-H horse show is a statewide event with participation of more than 500 youth who compete in individual games, said Matt Gunderson, SDSU Extension 4-H/ youth development assistant.
