Post #1 baseball team rebounds with 6-2 win by Jim Prosser Vermillion Post #1 faced Dakota Valley at McCook Lake on Tuesday, July 6 in a single game.

Brad Schaack started and pitched a full seven innings to claim the victory, registering six Ks and one walk, giving up two runs on four hits, as three team errors led to two unearned runs.

Line score: DV � 2 R, 4 H, 2 E; Vermillion � 6 R, 5 H, 3 E.

The opening inning brought the victors a quick run when Jared Burcham singled and scored on a two-base error. The lead lengthened to four when two consecutive walks to Chris Chase and Zach Weisz were followed by a rbi single for Jason Donald. Brandon Hansen sacrificed an rbi and Ben Oberle was hit by a pitch, followed by a sac bunt rbi for Burcham. B.J. Campbell hit an rbi single, and Jordan Anderson was safe on an error.

Eric Chase followed with the fifth rbi of the ining,with a one-base hit to complete the scoring for Vermillion.

Season record is now 7-15 and the team was entered in a tournament at Yankton on July 10-11.
