Post #1's season ends with tournament loss by Jim Prosser Using four pitchers didn't stop Beresford's offense in the fourth round of the Region 3B tourney.

They accumulated 17 hits and 12 runs while Post #1 could score only seven runs on 12 hits. The Tuesday, July 20 game was played at Elk Point.

Brad Schaack started and went 3 2/3 innings, giving up seven runs on nine hits. B.J. Campbell did a short 1 1/3 stint, being charged with three runs on five hits. He was followed by Jason Donald who gave up one run on one hit for three innings; then Ben Oberle finished up with a one-inning assignment, giving up one run on two hits.

Line score: Vermillion � 7 R, 12 H, 3 E, 9 lob; Beresford � 12 R, 17 H, 4 E, 11 lob.

Vermillion scoring summary: Oberle � 2 for 5; Jared Burcham � two walks, two runs; B.J. Campbell went 2 for 4, scoring two runs; Donald was 2 for 3 with one run and two RBIs; Chris Chase went 2 for 4, one run, one RBI; Schaack scored a run on 1 for 5 at bats; Ryan Mockler and Brandon Hanson each had a hit; and Zach Weiss drove in a run with his 1 for 4 batting..

Vermillion's final season record is 13-19.
